I've decided to make this post because I see we have some problems if it comes about time zones. If we all give times in GMT nobody should have a problem saying what time it is for him. As well I'll put here something which may be usable for communication during matches/scrims.

Time

In military 24-hour clock is used and the format you give time in is:

Example 1: 1200Z (read: Twelve hundred Zulu hours)
Example 2: 1253Z (read: Twelve hundred fifty three Zulu hours)

Simply: 0000 is for the start of the day, i.e. midnight (12pm). 1200 is for the noon (12am).

Zulu time is just GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). GMT is basically time in Greenwhich, London, UK. This is the time zone "zero" and every other time zone is based upon this one. For example for Central European Time it's GMT+1, thus if GMT time is 1200, in Central Europe (in normal, thus not summer time) it's 1300 and so on. But in summer time, it's GMT+2, so during summer 1200GMT in Western Europe is 1400. For the United States, you have to subtract:

East Coast (Raleigh, North Carolina): GMT-5 hours (DST - Daylight Saving Time not in use because we've already switched to "normal" (winter) time)
West Coast (Los Angeles, California): GMT-8 hours (DST - Daylight Saving Time not in use because we've already switched to "normal" (winter) time)

There's no switch between summer and normal time for GMT. In most of the countries there's DST in use so even in England which is all in one time zone in summer if it's 1200Z in fact it means that the local time is 1300 (GMT+1). But in winter 1200Z is 1200 local time.

Radio communication

There's a specific code which is used for radio communication. It makes some things easier and shorter, thus more effective. Here's a couple:

Tango - enemy
Over - I've finished talking to you and expect your reply
Out - I've finished talking to you and not expect reply
Roger - Information received
Copy - I understand what you just said (after receiving information)
Wilco - Will Comply (after receiving new directions) implies "Roger"
Go ahead - Send your transmission
Say again - please repeat your last message

I do not expect you to use all of these during TS communication but we could use at least a couple like Tango (shorter than "enemy"), Roger, Copy, Wilco.
